1945 - 2013
Ron Caumartin was born in St. Rose du Lac, Manitoba on August 10, 1945 and was raised in the McCreary, MB area. He headed to Alberta in his late teens to see and do new and different things. He went back to Manitoba but the call of Alberta brought him back in 1970. He met and married Jeanne and went on to raise three fine sons in the East Longview area. In 1979 he moved into the village of Longview, planted roots and remained there until his death. Ron was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and his youngest son. Ron was a 32 year MD employee who loved grading "his" roads. He was also a long-time volunteer Fireman out of Longview Station 1. He will be remembered for his hard work and dedication to the Fire Department, Little New York Daze and the Longview Stampede. He was a man who worked for leisure and mowed grass, trimmed hedges, cleaned flower beds, shovelled snow and helped anyone, anytime, anywhere. He will be much missed by his wife Jeanne; sons Jason and Justin; chosen daughters (nieces) Meghan and Shawna and their families; grandson Austin, granddaughter Amber, brothers, brothers-in- law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He will also be much missed by friends and neighbours. A Celebration of Ron's Life will be held at the Longview Hall on December 11, 2013 from 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. A special thanks to Dr. Congdon, Black Diamond and to Dr. J.W. Henning, Chemo day care nurses and my beloved Alice An at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. Your kindness, compassion, concerns, caring and dedication has been much appreciated. You are an inspiration to us all. Much Love. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously request that donations be made to the Research Department at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 - 29 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta, T2N 4N2.
