We are sad to announce the passing of Ronald Cram on April 8, 2014. Ron was born in Lauder, Manitoba on June 5, 1926 to Willard and Alice Cram. He grew up on farms in Lauder and near Saskatoon. He met Marguerite Walters and they married in Saskatoon in 1948 and lived across Canada as he pursued his welding and pipeline career before settling in Okotoks in 1962. Ron loved to be with people and to tell a good story. Whether it was about his pipeline buddies or old friends he was rarely without a tale. He provided his grandchildren many laughs with his famous "Grampaisms". He also loved music and would play his sax and clarinet for hours without the aid of music - even playing in the Okotoks Band for awhile. And he loved hockey. From his rink rat days in Saskatoon to watching Hockey Night in Canada and cheering for the Flames to never missing a game of the Okotoks Oilers. Ron is survived by his loving wife Marguerite and sister Velma Wishart, daughters Wendy, Janice and Cathy, sons-in-law Pete Magnussen, Barry Stock and Marcus Gurske, grandchildren Sherri Thomson, Marti Tucker, David Stock and Brant Stock and their families. A celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 p.m. at Okotoks Elks Lodge
, 58 Elizabeth Street, on Saturday, April 12, 2014. While Ron beat Cancer, it has touched our family in many ways so contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated in lieu of flowers. We would like to thank the nurses at High River Hospital who gave Ron such great care to the end.
