Sally Rogers passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 3, 2013. Sally was born in Manchester, England on July 15, 1926 and came to Canada as a war bride. She and her beloved Jim raised a family in the S.W. community of Killarney. She cherished her many friends and was proud to be a member of the Canadian War Brides and to be supported by the Calgary Firefighters family. She is lovingly remembered by sons Jim (Julie) and Stephen (Margret), grandchildren Michelle (Patrick) Nicholls, Jamie, Daniel, Peter, Sarah, Jennifer, great-grandson Samuel and many relatives in England. She was predeceased by her husband Jim Rogers, sister Margaret Webb, and brothers-in-law Tom Rogers and Jack Anderson. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church (2223 - 34 Street S.W., Calgary) today, January 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation, 2888 Shaganappi Trail N.W., Calgary, AB T3B 6A8 (Phone 403-955-8818). In living memory of Sally Rogers, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
