KALUZNICK, Stanley "Stan" William

Bollie, Stach, call me anything, but don't call me Stanley, beloved husband of Beverley Ann Kaluznick (nee Rhodes) of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on Monday, May 15, 2017 at the age of 85 years. Stan was an Entrepreneur; in the early days he owned the Royalite Station on 14th Street and 5th Avenue NW, he then spent 25 years with Magcobar before founding United Mud Supply, later Canamera United Supply. He was an athlete; in 1949 he attended the Detroit Red Wings camp, the same year, while in Grade 11, he played one game with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He played five years with the Calgary Stampeders from 1950-1954. In 1966 he bought the WCHL Calgary Buffaloes, renamed the team Calgary Centennials Junior Hockey Club, and became its first GM. He proudly sponsored a chuckwagon and went on to be President of the World Professional Chuckwagon Association. Three words that sum up Stan's life would be friend, athlete, and good guy. Stan is survived by his wife Beverley Ann Kaluznick, children Brock Kaluznick (Pat), Trudy Milner (Kevin), Tracy Paul (Rob); grandchildren Trina Marshall, Scott Milner, Shannon Paul, Brennan Paul, Hana Kaluznick, Nathalie Kaluznick, Georgia Kaluznick, great-grandson Landon Groves all of Calgary, and sister Steffie Gill and sister-in- law Olga Kaluznick of Winnipeg; and all his family in Winnipeg, who meant so much to him. Stan was predeceased by his parents Maria and Wasylo Kaluznick, siblings Nellie Semnovitch, Edward Kaluznick, Olga Oberton, Minnie Kaluznick, Wally Kaluznick, and Zoe Strychar. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
