Audrey Williamson of Calgary, Alberta passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 9 at the age of 73. Audrey was born to Bertha Lydia (nee Baun) and Nelson Hector Reese in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, the first of six children. She grew up a farm girl in the Lake Lenore and Ridgedale areas. Audrey attended teachers college in Saskatoon prior to her marriage to Art Williamson of Eston, Sask. in May of 1962. Audrey worked in the University of Saskatchewan Hospital records, was a grade school teacher, a home maker, did administration for Shepard King Lutheran Church and the Calgary Interfaith organization, ran her own business and finished her career at General Mills Canada Inc. Audrey was a champion five pin bowler in the recreational leagues of Calgary in the 1970's, she also liked to paint, sew, crochet, cross stitch, garden and play the accordion. She also authored a family history book and was working on an extensive second edition. Audrey touched everyone she met with her amazing kind unassuming and non judgmental nature. Audrey is lovingly remembered by her children Kelvin (Tracy Ash), Karen (Paul Harrison) and Kendall and grandson Nicholas, brothers Theodore (Heather Coulter) and Earl (Janis Ford), sisters Beverly (Wes Dagg) and Myrna (Levern Thomas). She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Hubert (Bud) Reese and his wife Laureen (nee Groat). Funeral Services will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 43015 George Fox Trail, Cochrane, AB, on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to give great thanks to the staff and friends at the lodge where she lived for the excellent care and attention she received there. Facebook friends are welcome to write a tribute on her wall. In living memory of Audrey Williamson, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park, Cochrane.
