Barton Bruce of Calgary passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at the age of 85 years. Having graduated from Brandon University in Manitoba, Barton excelled in his career as a geophysicist with Mobil Oil. Barton enjoyed world travels, reciting Robert Burns, walking his dogs, and spending time with his family and friends. Barton is survived by his loving daughters, Nadia Bruce-Rawlings (Brian Rawlings) and Denise Cordner; his sons, Geoffrey Cordner and Can Bruce (Handan Gunduz-Bruce); his granddaughters, Sophia Bruce and Aylin Bruce; and his grandson, Sinan Bruce. Barton was predeceased by his loving wife of 30 years, France Jeanne Bruce (nee Burthe-Mique), as well as six sisters, Doe, Marjorie, Cleo, Ruth, Rita, and Glad.
