STEPHENS, Beverly Anne
A long-time resident of the Millarville, Alberta area, passed away on the 2nd of June at the Black Diamond Oilfields Hospital, at the age of 65. Born in 1948 in Calgary, Alberta, at a young age Bev moved to the ranching community of Millarville, where raising race horses became the family passion. Bev graduated from the Turner Valley Oilfields High School and later went on to pursue studies at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technologies (SAIT) as a nurse's aid. Bev loved horses, cooking for friends and had a passion for her "Hidden Valley Ranch." She had a huge heart and a grin that was full of mischief. Bev loved to "Cowgirl Up" in her western attire and to attend Cowboy Church, always arriving early to get the front seat, in the front row, next to the aisle. Bev was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys, the Millarville Community Church and was an avid supporter of the Millarville Racing and Agricultural Society - always proud to be a sponsor of the Canada Day races held each July 1st, hosting a suite for friends and donating a beautiful horse blanket to the spoils. Bev is predeceased by her husband Harold Leonard Stephens, parents Agnes Rose (McCaul) Roberts and (Woodrow) David Roberts, her infant brother Raymond Dale Roberts, and by her adored grandmother Hermine McCaul. Bev is survived by her friends, aunts and numerous cousins, and by her cherished dog KoKo, her constant companion. Bev will be dearly missed. Services will be held this Thursday, June 12th at 2 p.m. at the Millarville Racing and Agricultural Society racetrack. Pastor Allan Burney will be presiding. Bev's ashes will be spread on her ranch next to Harold and her favourite horse "Catcha Dancer." Snodgrass Funeral Homes has been entrusted with arrangements (403) 938-3111.
