September 2, 1913 - September 7, 2012
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our Mother on Friday, September 7, 2012 at the age of 99 years. Blanche was born in Readlyn, SK on September 2, 1913. She was a mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt and will be lovingly remembered by her children Greg (Elaine), Merv (Linda), Gerry (Sandy), and Allan; grandchildren, Tiffany, Rob, Mike, Mark (Minerva), Kelly (Sean), Kristine, and Kristen (Al) and nine great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Phyllis and Irma; brothers, Stan and Merle; sister-in-law Joyce, and several nieces and nephews. Blanche was predeceased by her loving husband Don on November 28, 2000. Blanche was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She had a passion for reading books, was an avid card player, and enjoyed lawn bowling with all her friends. Mom loved being with family and friends. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apple of her eye, and brought much joy. At Blanche's request there will be no funeral. A Graveside Service will be held in Moose Jaw, SK. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to thank the Sarcee Hospice and staff for their kindness and compassion. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, No. 430, 1324 - 17 Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB T2T 5S8 (Phone 403-209-2233). In living memory of Blanche Day, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
