Bob McKinstry passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the age of 79 years. Bob was born in Griffin, SK on May 21, 1933 and moved to Calgary with his family when he was eight years old. After high school he took a body repair apprenticeship and worked at the trade for eleven years at such time he opened his own shop. He sold the business in 2006 and retired to his acreage. He married Betty McClean in 1956 and they raised four children; three sons Larry (Shelly), Don (Deka) and Bruce and daughter Carol Rogowski (Regan). Bob and Betty were snowbirds in Yuma, AZ for over 20 years. Bob was a thirty-five year member of the Southridge Lions Club. He is survived by his wife Betty, his four children, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, two brothers Dale (Oona) of B.C. and Jim (Darlene) of Lethbridge and brother-in-law Don Palmer of Calgary. Bob was predeceased by his parents Frank and Lucy, sister Joyce Palmer and son-in-law Paul Rogowski. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB) tomorrow, Friday, January 25, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to Ogden United Church, 7401 - 23 Street S.E., Calgary, AB T2C 0X8 or to Chinook Hospice, 1206 Glenmore Trail S.W., Calgary, AB T2V 4Y8. In living memory of Bob McKinstry, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
