JAYLO, Caridad

Caridad "Nanay" Jaylo (nee Songcuya), beloved mother to Cari "Baby" Marcia (Eddie); grandmother to: Inday Sorayda (Augusto) Villanueva, Sonia (John) Guinto, Jet and Shaun Marcia; and great- grandmother to: Leah and Alexa Villanueva, Marayah, Matthew and Monica Guinto, who were all at her side as she passed away peacefully at the age of 92. Besides her family in Canada, she is survived by her son Ricarlito (Bebeth) Jaylo and daughter Sister Myrna Jaylo; grandchildren Agnes (Lito) Manalo, Jun (Blesilda) Jaylo and Rhea Jaylo; and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind six siblings: Teodorica, Isabel, Consorcia, Dionisio, Marina and Leopoldo; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of the Philippines. Nanay was predeceased by her husband Ricardo; her son Romulo; older sister Presentacion; mother Ines and father Adriano. She was the matriarch, the pillar and the heart and soul of the family. Nanay made sacrifices as she raised her children, brothers, sisters, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She will be remembered by her beautiful smile and her "Nanay" kisses. The family would like to say a very special thank you to all the staff of the Bethany Harvest Hills for taking such good care of their Nanay. Thank you to Dr. Rosen, Dr. Sarah Morrisey and Dr. Donais and the PLC ACESS Team for their compassion to Nanay and family. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Mountain View Funeral Home on Thursday, November 22, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. and Friday, November 23, 2012 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Prayers commencing in the Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (404 Northmount Place N.W.) on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery, Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
