It with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Kot after a courageous battle with cancer. Doug will always be lovingly remembered by his mother Shirley; brother Brian; his loving companion Claire Dionne and her daughter Annick; his lifelong friend Ed Malcolm; his many friends and their children who loved him and called him Uncle Doug, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He will also be remembered by his fellow employees and bosses at Atco Pipeline. He was predeceased by his father William and his aunt Audrey as well as his four grandparents. Doug was always very athletic and enjoyed many sports and outdoor activities, especially in the mountains. He always lived life to the fullest. A Celebration of Doug's Life will be held at Calgary Winter Club, 4611 - 14 Street S.W., on Monday, June 24, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to The Palliative Home Care Program through the Alberta Health Trust in memory of Douglas Richard Kot.
