LEE, Edward (Ming)
August 10, 1935 - August 10, 2013
Ed Lee (also known to many by his Chinese name, Ming) passed away peacefully on August 10, 2013. He is survived by his partner, Maisie Liu; brother, Norman; three children: Gary, Stephen (Liz), Marcy (Carl); two grandchildren: Violet and Otis as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Edward; mother, Jean (Mai Yen) and brother, Gary. Ed was born in Kamloops and lived in Toronto for most of his formative years before moving with his family to Calgary where he attended Western Canada High School. He went on to obtain his BEng from Brigham Young University. Ed had a varied career, including pipeline engineer for Alberta Gas Trunkline, and particularly enjoyed being a venue manager for OCO '88. Ed was an avid outdoorsman and generously shared his passion for fly fishing, hiking, skiing, canoeing, camping and travelling abroad with family and friends. Throughout it all, Ed always had one of his many cameras in hand ready to capture the moment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation (200, 119 -14 Street N.W., Calgary, AB, T2N 1Z6) or a charity of one's choice.
