1943 - 2012
Ellen Joan Hedderick (nee Bandurk), born August 1, 1943 in Scott, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully the morning of July 14, 2012 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She is lovingly remembered by her children James (Lynne) Bird, Ron (Kathy) Bird and Gillian (Scott) Grant, as well as her three grandchildren: Anja, Isaac and Eden. She is predeceased by her first husband Robert J. Bird, her mother Pauline Dyck and her devoted husband Ken Hedderick. Joan will always be remembered as a creative and talented artist, a self taught and award- winning artisan in needlepoint and quilting, and a lover of animals. For friends and family wishing to attend, a Gathering of Remembrance will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate), Calgary on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a memorial donation are encouraged to send contributions to the Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre, 2200 St. Henry Avenue, Saskatoon, SK S7M 0P5. Joan's children wish to express their deepest gratitude to the staff there for the care and attention given to their mother.
