May 23, 2013 - Calgary, AB
Francesco, beloved husband of Pauline of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the age of 66 years. It is with deepest regret that we announce the sudden passing of Francesco Lecce. Francesco (Frank) Lecce was born in Cervicati, Cosenza, Italy on July 6, 1946. As a graduated journeyman electrician, he immigrated to Toronto, ON, Canada in 1968. There, he worked for Ontario Hydro before relocating to Calgary, AB in 1974. While running his own electric company, he raised his family. In 1983, he and his first wife, Vittoria established a gourmet food and culinary shop - A Touch of Italy. The community embraced this business which allowed his import and wholesale distribution ventures to flourish. Frank was passionate about his Italian heritage and was actively involved in the community at large. His primary focus was dedicated to spending time with the Italian seniors who were integral in establishing the Italian community. He had a deep love for travel and meeting people from all over the world. In 2005, he and Pauline were married. Frank, Pauline and daughter, Caroline, travelled extensively and lived in the UK as well as Asia. Since their return to Calgary, Frank genuinely enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Lauren, Christian, and Sofia. He truly loved his family and dear friends. Frank's family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to all family and friends, with special thanks to the amazing ICU team at the Foothills Medical Centre. He will be dearly missed. Beside his loving wife, Pauline, Frank is remembered by his daughters, IsaBelle Lecce (Jefri) Saliba of Calgary, AB, and Caroline Nhan of London, ON; his son, Lorenzo Lecce (Jacolyn Smart) of Calgary, AB; his grandchildren, Lauren, Christian and Sophia. He is also survived by his father, Lorenzo (Nicodemo) Lecce; his brothers, Raffaele, Joe and Tonino Lecce. Frank was predeceased by his mother, Ada Salerno and his sister, Isabelle (Emilia) Lecce. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Chapel of the Bells" (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, May 27, 2013 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish (formerly Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church) (1714 - 14 Avenue N.E.) on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through The family requests no flowers please.
