1918 - 2012
Following a brief illness, Frank Hastings Lindop passed away on December 13, 2012 at the Foothills Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born on May 12, 1918 in Stoke-on-Trent, England. He immigrated to Canada in 1952. Frank worked with Consolidated Concrete/Genstar from 1952 until 1983 when he retired. In July, 1956 he met Gladys and married her in January, 1957. Together they raised their family of three daughters in Calgary. Frank was in the British Military, Special Forces (Chindits). He served in World War II and was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 285. He also belonged to the Calgary Cricket Association (Astras) and was a member of the Acadia Curling Club. In his youth he played soccer, fieldhockey and cricket. As an adult, he enjoyed playing darts, fishing, camping and ballroom dancing. Frank enjoyed his extended family and spent a lot of time with his grandchildren. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Gladys, daughters Carol Ann Cousin (Bill), Claudia Jean Foldessy (Leslie) and Jacqueline Condly (Rodney). He also leaves behind his grandchildren Colin, Bryan (Danielle), Catrina, Nicole and Brett as well as his brother Philip and extended family in England. Frank was predeceased by his parents Frank and Muriel Lindop and his siblings Nora, Madge, Jean and Colin. A Private Family Service will be held.
