ARMSTRONG _ Fredrick "Earl" 1923 - 2005 It is with great sadness we announce the death of Earl Armstrong, also fondly known as Squirrel, Wimple, and Snyder, at the Foothills Medical Centre on Saturday, October 1, 2005, at the age of 82 years. Earl is survived by his daughter Gayle (Larry) Want of Cochrane; granddaughters, Kari (Gord) Wenz of Calgary, Dawn Griffin of Cochrane, and Tyree Armstrong of Sydney, Australia; great-granddaughters, Jordyn Griffin and Hayley Griffin. He is predeceased by his wife "Helen" Evelyn Armstrong and his son Neil. Earl was born in Saskatchewan, he was the adventurer, joined the Navy in World War II. He married Helen Selby in 1944, then moved his family to Calgary in 1953. After Helen's passing in 1990 he moved to Cochrane. Earl had lots of good coffee friends and loved to laugh and tease. He was a bundle of energy and was often referred to as the Energizer Bunny. After illness made it necessary to leave an independent life-style he moved to the Bethany Lodge in Cochrane in 2001 where he was treated like family and was happy to call it home. He passed away peacefully to join Helen in the next phase of their journey. Special thanks to Cochrane E.M.S., Foothills E.R. and I.C.U., and to his large Bethany family. At Earl's request there will be no service.
