Gwendolyn (Lyn) Minauise Sikes-Abra passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 7, 2017 after a long battle with Frontotemporal Lobe Dementia. Lyn was the daughter of John Henry Sr. and Gwendolyn Mina Sikes of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and was born on July 11, 1945 in Memphis, Tennessee. She spent her formative years in Tuscaloosa. She later moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she worked at Baptist Hospital until she married Harrison L. Gray and moved to Strathmore, Alberta in 1968. She later re- married Jock Abra who survives her along with her children: two daughters, Kellie Gray of Calgary and Stacey Gray Woods (Jeremy) of Chandler, Arizona; one son, Chris Cotch (Deborah) of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, two stepsons Gordon Abra (Norah) of Santa Barbara, California and Brian Abra of Calgary. She leaves behind her wonderful grandchildren, Erika and Dean; Jeremy, Rachel, Taylor, Ryann and Alli; Mason and Lauren; Robert. Lyn is survived by her brother John Sikes Jr (Teresa), her sister Pamela Ferrell and numerous nieces and nephews in Alabama. Lyn was predeceased by her parents and her beloved cat Nikki. In keeping with Lyn's wishes, there will be no memorial service.
