ATWAL _ Hardev Singh May 2, 1948 - January 11, 2006 Hardev Singh Atwal, son of late Arjan Singh and Mother Joginder Kaur, passed away suddenly on January 11, 2006. He is survived by his loving wife Kulwinder Kaur (nee Johal); and his three children, Sandeep Kaur Sandhar (Karamjit Singh), Navdeep Kaur Atwal, and Avneet Singh Atwal. He is the second born of five brothers, Tarlok Singh (Charanjeet Kaur), Pritpal Singh (Davinder Kaur), Harpal Singh (Amardeep Kaur) and Jaswinder Singh (Manreet Kaur). He is also survived by his two sisters, Gurbax Kaur (late Surjit Singh) and Paramjit Kaur (Jagtar Singh). Hardev came to Canada in the early 1970's with modest beginnings, however, with hard work and determination he was able to establish himself and ensure the success of his extended family. When he first arrived in Canada he worked various jobs while attending school part time in order to better himself and his career. He graduated from SAIT where he completed his studies as a Heavy Duty Mechanic. Hardev worked for over twenty-five years at Henuset Pipelines in his chosen career path. Hardev felt that education and learning had the utmost importance; he was very passionate about learning in order to gain knowledge. It was fundamental to his values that his children and extended family be educated and well established. Our loss will be felt throughout our family, close friends, and community; he will be sorely missed. Hardev was always one to lend a hand to anyone at anytime. We love you always. You will be in our hearts and minds forever. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on January 15, 2006 at the CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 - 4 Street N.W. (within the valley of Queen's Park Cemetery). Everyone is invited to attend the ceremony honoring our son, husband, father, brother and great friend.
