Helena and I became friends years ago living in the same building. Her son Kyle and mine Austin became best of friends. We shared many times together with family camping on the Croatian land, and Helena's dad taught the boys how to chop wood..Calaway Park and just walkng along Princess Island Park talking about life. Helena was my gym buddy we worked out together for years in EauClaire at the YMCA>><. I learned of her death yesterday and wanted to send my condolences to all of Helena's family. I was relieved to hear that Kyle was safe with his grandparents. We will miss Helena and pray for healing to all of her family and friends

Always a friend,
Nicole & Austin

I met Helena at West Dover elementary in grade 5. We went to junior high and high school together. We lost touch until a few years back when I seen her on the c-train on her way to work. She told me about her job as a legal assistant and filled me in on her little boy. I will always remember her and send my wishes to your entire family.

Helena and I went to SAIT together in the Legal Assistant program. We quickly became friends, and remained friends. Her son Kyle and my daughter Kiara played together while Helena and I chatted. I am saddened that we lost touch, and regret deeply that we did. Its hard to beleive that she is gone, but will remain in my heart always.

Please accept my deepest sympathies. Kyle, remember that your mother loved you, and she is with you always.

To the Mihaljevic Family and friends,

I only met Helena a couple of times, just briefly. She was quiet, and I felt she was trying to work things out for herself. I prayed for her and felt for her and cared about her. I heard your families plea for her on the news a few months ago and recognized it was for Helena. I so wanted her to be alright. I just wanted to say how truly sorry I am to hear about her loss. I so hoped for her and prayed for her.

Sincerely, Colleen

Helena was certainly one of the most beautiful, animated people i have ever met in my life. She had such a big heart, and showed compassion and love towards everyone she met. Growing up she was my older sister figure, id come over often and chat with her about life and girl stuff and just hang out with her and kyle. Never have i seen a mother show so much love for her son, he was her everything, her life- her best friend. And everyone who saw them together or even apart could see it. Ill never forget Helena and our late nights playing in the park with kyle. I think of her often, and i know she is watching over us. My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with Kyle and her family.
May you rest in peace Helena.

I became friends with Helena in junior high school, and always thought she was a happy joyous girl who was very cute!! We had some very good times over the years, but unfortunately didn't stay in touch. She was wonderful and full of kindness. I was deeply saddened to first hear of her missing and than to be attending her funeral today. My deepest condolences to her family and all who loved her. She will be forever missed.

To Wally & Ivanka....

My mother, Marie Dodge (Woloshyn) was unable to be with you in your time of soorow, but she has asked me to pass on her love and sympathy to you. She lived next door to for many years and watched Helena and Jas grow up. She was shocked and dismayed when I called her about Helena. She has many wonderful memories of all of you. She will be in contact with you in the near future.

To: Mihaljevic and Pittman Family:

I can't even express in words how very saddened I am at your loss. I have known Helena for 27 years, growing up with her and watching her progress into the beautiful person she was.

My memories of Helena will always be filled with love and happiness. Even though I was not her true 'sister' she was my little sister in every other way. I loved her very much and was very proud to have been apart of her life and to have gotten to know the beautiful mother she was. Her life will always be treassured by those that truly loved her, and I am greatful that I am one of those people.

Helena...I love you

I went to high school with Helena. I remember her always smiling and joking around with everybody, keeping us all laughing. You could talk to her about anything, and she was always sweet and kind. I just looked at some old pictures I found of her celebrating my 16th and 17th birthdays with me and all of her other friends at the time. I was sad to hear the news of her untimely death, and would like to offer my deepest sympathy to her family and son.

I grew up with Helena...we lived down the street from each other. We played together, went to school together and became close friends.
I remember when we use to ride our bikes all over the city as kids, laughing and talking. I will miss her deeply. I am so sad that we lost contact with each other. She was a wonderful person with a kind heart who loved her son immensely. I will never forget Helena, she will be in my heart forever and always.

Helena and I were in the Legal Assistant Diploma program at SAIT together and when she introduced herself on the first day, I realized WOW another Croatian in my class (aside from me) haha! She was such a joyous spirit on a positive track, and she never hesitated to offer a helping hand. We quickly became friends and had some great laughs and times together!! She was so proud of her li'l boy Kyle and whenever she would mention him, her eyes would just light up...he was the joy of her life.

My deepest and heartfelt condolences go out to her family especially her son Kyle. May he one day know how much she loved and cared for him. Helena, you are in our hearts forever. May you rest in peace and one day we will meet again, and share in some good old fashioned laughter!!!!

To Wally, Ivanka, Jas & Kyle

Helena and I have been friend since we were 6. She was my very first best friend in Grade 1. We would have so much fun playing and growing up together. I can still hear that laugh of hers that was so contagious! She was so proud of her little boy when she would talk about him. I will miss her deeply and wish everyday that we never lost contact. She will never be forgotten and I will treasure the memories forever.
