BULMAN, Jerry Lynn
January 21, 1943 - August 12, 2012
Jerry passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 12, 2012 with family by his side after a valiant battle with brain cancer. He leaves behind, and will be deeply missed by his daughter Cheryl and son-in-law Matt Janisch, his grandchildren Jacob and Onna Janisch, his wife Barbara and extended family, good friends and business colleagues too numerous to mention. Jerry was born in Calgary and later settled here. His early years were spent in a variety of places including Stavely, Claresholm, St. John's Nfld., California, Arizona and Edmonton. Upon settling in Calgary and after having worked for various oilfield and pipeline companies, Jerry decided to strike out on his own and founded Parkvalley Consulting Ltd. where he had a long, successful and happy career providing oilfield consulting services. Jerry lived life to the fullest and with passion. When he was interested in something he went for it wholeheartedly. Among his passions were horses, sailing, flying, travel, his pets and being actively involved in mineral exploration and development. Right to the end, Jerry maintained his sense of humour and easy-going positive manner. If asked how he was, he would respond "nearly perfect" no matter how he felt. Family and friends were important to Jerry and he cultivated many close friendships over his lifetime. The steady stream of friends, colleagues and family that visited or called during his illness were a testament to a life well lived. A Celebration of Jerry's Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carewest Sarcee Hospice, 3504 Sarcee Road S.W., Calgary, AB T3E 4T4. The family would like to thank the staff of Unit 47 at the Foothills Hospital and the staff at the Sarcee Carewest Hospice for the excellent and compassionate care they provided Jerry during his final months. In living memory of Jerry Bulman, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
