Joann Hembree

HEMBREE , Joann It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joann Hembree. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 19, 2009 with family by her side. This adventurous woman, beloved wife of Ian Underdown and loving mother of Cody and Jeremy Hembree leaves behind her grandson Jack; brothers Roy (Stephanie) Healy, Bruce Healy, Allen Healy, Jack Healy, and Dave (Sylvia) Healy. Joann was a devoted, dedicated mother, wife and friend. She enjoyed life to its fullest while sailing, entertaining friends, cooking, playing with her dogs and celebrating any occasion imaginable. Ian and Joann had hoped to sail the world but sadly that adventure was cut short after discovering she had cancer. Joann conquered Mount Kilimanjaro but could not beat cancer. A Celebration of her extraordinary Life will be held at her home, 770 Arbutus Avenue in Maple Bay, Duncan, BC, on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, December 5 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Invermere Cemetery, BC where Joann's ashes will be placed on the gravesite of her father which is also where her mother's ashes lie.
