FOREMAN, Kathleen Joyce
June 30, 1958 - September 2, 2013
Imagineer, improviser, actor, much-loved teacher, author, director, storyteller, costume and prop creator, fearless traveller, and mentor to many young theatre professionals, Kathleen Foreman was a positive force in the life of everyone who met her. Kathleen was a founding member of Loose Moose and masQuirx. She was a supporter of many theatre groups from Maenad to the Ellipsis Tree Collective. She produced and directed interpretive programs for Parks Canada and worked for years with the 52nd Street Project in NYC. She was proud to be among the champions of Wagonstage Theatre. In 2012, Kathleen was awarded the Duvall Lang Award for her work in Theatre for Young Audiences. She leaves behind her sweetheart Geoffrey Gerwing, her mother Hazel Foreman, sister Carol Foreman, the extended Foreman and Gerwing families and her goddesses. She was the only auntie who could juggle underpants. The Company of her friends, family and colleagues is invited to celebrate her life on Saturday, September 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the Reeve Theatre at the University of Calgary (210 University Court N.W.). In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Wagonstage Theatre (c/o Lana Skauge, 1467 Russell Road N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 5N2) or the Ellipsis Tree Collective (204, 934 - 2 Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 0E6) and please commit a random act of kindness.
