May 28, 1981 - April 7, 2013
Keena Kim Giovanetto passed away in Calgary on Sunday, April 7 in an automobile accident. She was born in Seoul, South Korea, where she lived until she was five years old. In 1986 she came to Canada and became part of the Giovanetto family. She is survived by her loving partner of eight years, William Cover and his family, her parents, Barry and Penny, her brothers, Casey, Chris and Aaron and their families, her close cousins Kelly and Kathy Doyle (nee Giovanetto) and their family, her friend since childhood Amy Monk as well as many other friends, relatives and coworkers. Keena was a production accountant with Murphy Oil and was known for her strong work ethic and outgoing personality. Keena enjoyed golfing, skiing, working out on her treadmill and traveling. She enjoyed socializing with friends over a cold drink and spicy food - the spicier the better! Taken from us far too soon, Keena is deeply loved and will be greatly missed. A Funeral Mass celebrating her life will take place on Friday, April 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church (1714 - 14 Avenue N.E.). A reception and lunch will follow at the church hall from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. A picture slide show of her life, family and friends will be shown. Everyone is welcome to attend the Funeral Mass and/or the reception. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, memorial tributes may be made in Keena's memory directly to the Adoption Council of Canada.
