It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Lawrence Chin, 26 of Calgary who passed away at his residence on December 2, 2012. He is survived by his parents Mary Anne and Paul Chin and his loving sister, Jennifer Chin all of Calgary. He is also survived by his grandparents, Louis and Joanna Verberne, of London, Ontario; as well as several loving aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Eric and Sarah Chin and by his aunt and Godmother, Gail Livedotte. Lawrence graduated from Bishop McNally High School, Calgary with Honours (2000-2004). In 2009, he graduated from the University of Calgary's Haskayne School of business with a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting - With Distinction. He then enrolled in the Chartered Financial Analyst Program (CFA) and successfully completed the Level III CFA exam in 2012. Lawrence enjoyed running, cycling, hiking, basketball and kung fu. He also enjoyed watching movies, working with computers and spending time outdoors. He especially loved the fact that the mountains were right in his backyard. Lawrence was fascinated with exploring the mysteries of life and believed that wisdom is the key to attaining self- actualization. He had a very kind heart and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow.
