It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of David Leslie "Les" Curzon on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the age of 78 years. Les was born on March 18, 1935 in Bon Accord, Alberta, the third eldest of eleven children to William and Catherine Curzon. Les started his career in 1956 with the City of Calgary as a lineman, was promoted to Safety Officer, and finished his twenty-five years with the City of Calgary as the Manager of Mechanical Services. Les was also an entrepreneur, successfully starting and managing Custom Riggers and Rentenna Communications. Les loved to spend time with his family, enjoyed gardening, being outdoors and was an active and charitable member of the community. He was well respected and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Eleanor; daughter Susan (Rick) Cook; son Rod (Lynne) Curzon; grandchildren, Chelsea (Greg), Robin, Sean, Branden, Abbey and Cristina; and great-grandson Hudson. He is also survived by his sisters Cathy (Bob) and Violet (Miles); sisters-in-law Darlene and Helen; brothers, Frank (Linda), Lambert, John (Pat) and Ricky; brother-in-law Dennis (Barb); and numerous nieces and nephews. Les was predeceased by his parents William and Catherine; sister Sally; and brothers, Jack, Ernest, Victor and Bobby. A Celebration of Les' Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) today, August 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
