It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and sister. Lilly passed away at the Southwood Hospice with family members and Father Mark Bayrock by her side after a brief yet courageous battle with cancer. Lilly is survived by her loving husband Jim; her sons, Paul, Ken, and Justin; and her brothers and sisters, Roman, Bill, Olga, Jean, and Walter. Lilly was predeceased by her mother Annie and her father Paul. Lilly was also predeceased by her nephew Ron and grandnephew Owen. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Stephen Protomartyr Ukrainian Catholic Church (4903 - 45 Street S.W.) today, July 31, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Stephen Protomartyr Ukrainian Catholic Church (4903 - 45 Street S.W.) on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. There will be a Memorial Service held in Winnipeg after which Lilly's ashes m will be interred at the Transcona Cemetery; the date to be announced. Condolences may be forwarded through The family would like to thank the staff of the Southwood Hospice and the Tom Baker Cancer Centre Unit 46 for the loving care, kindness, and support throughout the last six months; may God bless them all. In living memory of Lilly Armstrong, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
