WOLFE, Lorine Erma (nee Miller)
July 11, 1928 - November 15, 2012
On Thursday November 15, 2012 our beloved mother and grandmother was peacefully called home into the presence of the Lord. Lorine will be lovingly missed and remembered by her family, three sons, Trevor (Tami) in Edmonton, Gerry (Marielee) in Calgary, Greg (Kelly) in North Vancouver, and daughter, Laurie (Doug) Smith also from North Vancouver. She will be forever treasured by her nine grandchildren, Jeremy, Stephen, Michael, Jefferson, Breanna, Brendan, Shaelyn, Emily and Alexander. Lorine was predeceased by her loving and adored husband, Norm in 1998, and aunt and life-long friend, Tillie Morgan in July 2012. Lorine is also survived by her uncles Ed Morgan of Regina and Irvine Huber of Mathews, North Carolina, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lorine had many friends in both Regina and Calgary who she made a point of staying in touch with on a regular basis. Lorine earned teaching degrees at the University of Saskatchewan. Well into retirement years she volunteered to help students with learning challenges. She was an educator and taught at many levels including a K-12 country school at Markinch, SK where she met her husband Norm. For Lorine, Norm was the love of her life. Living in Regina, they raised a family, travelled extensively, loved the outdoors and were active members in their church. In 1995, Lorine and Norm moved to Calgary to be closer to family and friends. Foremost to Lorine was her devotion to her Christian faith. She played the piano at the Evangelical Church in Regina. Lorine's love of music and love for God were instilled in her children at an early age. We loved our mother and grandmother dearly and though we are saddened with her passing, we take comfort knowing that she is rejoicing with the saints, our father Norm and other loved ones. The family would like to thank geriatrician Dr. Karen Freutel and Cindy Ully at the Rocky View Senior Center, and Drs. David Todd and Nini Zawtun for their expert care as primary caregivers. A special note of thanks to all of the tireless and caring staff at the Bow View Manor in Calgary. A Memorial Service will be held at the Eden Brook Funeral Home (corner of 17th Avenue SW & Lower Springbank Road) on Saturday November 24, 2012 starting at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations by those wishing may be made to "Young Life in Calgary", Suite 120-9440 202 St Langley, BC V1M 4A6, or directly at www.younglife.ca or World Vision Canada, Box 2500, Mississauga, ON L5M 2H2 or any like organization that provides care and support to children and young people.
