It is with great sadness that the family of Marjorie announces her passing, with her daughters by her side, from complications due to a fall on January 24, 2013. Marjorie is survived by her two daughters Karen (Ron Adams) and Laura (Larry Koltusky); grandchildren Lori (Bob), Colin and Laura Lee; and great-grandchildren Carly and Brendan. Marjorie is also survived by two brothers, George and Douglas, and two brothers-in-law, Dale and Barry. She was predeceased by her husband Len, grandson Kurtis Robin, sister Grace and brother Jim. Marjorie will be remembered as a very strong and independent woman. She taught school for thirty-two years. She adored music and played the piano from age seven. Marjorie also participated in two choirs. She loved to travel, and two highlight trips were to Europe and the British Isles. She was a member of the Eastern Star for forty-two years. She took up Bridge in her later years and played with two bridge groups. She also loved to read. Marjorie was deeply loved and her spirit will live within each of us lucky to have our lives touched by her. The family would like to thank the staff of Unit 54 of the Peter Lougheed Hospital, all the doctors who attended her, the physio staff, ministers Debbie and Geoffrey and her many friends. Marjorie would like to thank her friends in the Eastern Star, her Bridge partners and her many other friends who provided rides and helped her in many other aspects of her life. Thanks to everyone who sent cards, flowers, gifts, visited, or phoned while Marjorie was in the hospital. A Celebration of Marjorie's Life will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home on Friday, February 22, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marjorie may be made to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation.
