Murray, age 82, was born in Auckland, New Zealand, October 7, 1929 and passed away on August 4, 2012. He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret, now survived by his wife, Patricia "Patti", sons, Scott (Cynthia), Robert, Paul (Tracey) and David; daughters, Heather (Ward) and Susanne. Also survived by grandchildren, Alexander, Greta, Rheese, Madison, Mackenzie, Samantha, Hanna, Dustin, Conner and Barrett. Murray was a graduate of the University of New Zealand and worked as a geologist in Australia, Papua, New Guinea, England and Canada. He was also a sessional instructor for 15 years at Mount Royal College in Calgary and a life member of APPEGA. Murray was very active in retirement with the Penticton Tuneagers, the React program at the pool and the Penticton Pipe Band and won many medals for long distance swimming in the Senior Games. He was always very generous with his time and talents and will be sorely missed. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service to celebrate Murray's life will be held at the Penticton United Church, 696 Main Street, Penticton, BC on August 13, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation, 550 Carmi Avenue, Penticton, BC V2A 3G6.
