ANDERSON _ Norma Jean (Russell) Norma Jean (Russell) passed away on February 14, 2005 at the Rockyview General Hospital. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Shirley Winlaw-Tierney; her granddaughters, Lara Jean Tierney and Lisa Robin Tierney; her son-in-law Robert Hall; her nieces, Eleanor (Norman) Thomas of Montreal, Jean Mortimer and Lynn Such of Toronto, and Frances (Ken) Murdoch of Winnipeg; her cousin Jack (Eleanor) Winram of Vancouver; the Love family; and her dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband James Glen Anderson. Norma was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the youngest of four children, and lived there for her first forty years before moving with her husband Jim to Calgary. Both Norma and Jim were founding members of Pleasant Heights United Church where they belonged to the Couples Club and where Norma was an active member of the choir and the UCW. For many years Norma joyfully taught community kindergarten. Later she became active with the IODE and happily worked in the Thrift Shop and knitted countless baby outfits and did much baking for the annual tea and bazaar. In their senior years both Norma and Jim participated fully in the activities and committees at Confederation Park Senior Citizens Centre. A highlight in her life was the years spent in the Cambrian Heights Ladies Bridge Club. Her family will always remember that she made the best shortbread ever. Gratitude is expressed to the wonderful staff at Rockyview Emergency and in Unit 47. Thanks also to the very caring folks at Southwood Care Centre, Parkland Unit - especially Deborah and the late Dianne Martin. A Memorial Service will be held at the Wild Rose United Church (1317 - 1 Street N.W.) on Friday, February 25, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. If so desired, memorial tributes may be made in Norma's name directly to the Alzheimer's Society of Calgary (No. 201, 222 - 58 Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB T2H 2S3). Arrangements entrusted to MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME and CEMETERY, 17 Avenue S.E. at Garden Road (1.5 km east of 84 Street S.E.). Telephone: 403-272-5555.
