August 20, 1925 - December 24, 2012
On December 24, 2012, our wonderful Mom passed peacefully to spend Christmas with John (Jack) Alexander, her husband of 58 years. Mom was born in Emerson, Manitoba to loving parents Catherine and John Oryschak. After living in Emerson, Winnipeg and Brandon for 40 years the Dunlop family moved to Calgary in 1965. Mom had a lifetime career in banking, beginning in Winnipeg at the Bank of Montreal and culminating at the Bank of Nova Scotia in Calgary where she retired in 1985 at the age of 70. She loved the people and felt they gave her a closer connection with her community. Although Mom was a career woman, she was first and foremost a wife and loving mother. Left to celebrate Mom's life are four children, Catherine (Gerry), Sharon (Don), Robert, and Tom. She was also very proud of her six grandchildren, Patty (Steve), Cassandra, Christopher (Annissa), Jackie, John (Sheena), and Michael; however her pride and joy were her nine great-grandchildren. Mom also appreciated the love and support of her nieces and nephews, Diane, Janice, David (Debbie) and Neil. Mom was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her brother, William and his wife Yvonne. As an expression of sympathy, a donation to the charity of your choice is appreciated. After cremation, Mom will rest with Jack in the Field of Honor at Queen's Park. Keeping with Mom's request, there will be a private family celebration of her life. Although Mom's stay at the Sarcee Hospice was short we would like to say thank you for their care and compassion. You exceeded every expectation. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Olga Dunlop, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
