Margaret (Peggy) Howard (nee Rose), beloved wife of the late Walter E. Howard of Calgary, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, April 1, 2013 at the age of 94 years. Peggy was born in Vancouver, B.C. and graduated as an R.N. from The Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, B.C. She worked as an R.N. during WWII and later relocated to Calgary with her husband Walter. Peggy and Walter raised four daughters in Calgary while being active members of their community and church. Peggy was passionate about her sports and enjoyed bowling, tennis, and hockey. She was an avid golfer and played until she was 90 years old. Peggy's main focus was her family and she will be lovingly remembered by them. She is survived by her children, Lynda Howard, Kate Howard, Barb Denoon (Norm) and Joan Sullivan; her grandchildren, Michael and Ben Porter, Lisa Samuel (Kurt), Karley and Connor Denoon as well as Tyler and Nicole Sullivan. She is also survived by her great- grandchildren, Tristan and Nicholas Samuel. Peggy was predeceased by her husband Walter E. Howard. Funeral Services will be held at Christ Church, 3602 - 8 Street S.W., Calgary on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff at Staywell Manor, Dr. Van Wyk and the staff of Unit 82 at the Foothills Hospital, and her caregiver Robyn. In living memory of Peggy Howard, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
