Taken from us suddenly with his loving wife Jacqueline while living their dream in Christina Lake, B.C. A family man, Dad is survived by six children, eleven grandchildren, five great- grandchildren, aunts and uncles and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad loved entertaining, especially creating tasty new dishes for his many family and friends that knew him and those who did not. An avid fisherman, Dad was always going for the "big one" and his smoked salmon was renowned to all those fortunate to get their hands on some. Boating, golfing, gardening, dancing, fine dining, romancing and hosting/attending a good party were Dad's passions. Dad was a hard worker, retiring after 38 years of employment with Westco where he met many great people who turned into his lifelong friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jacqueline's family. Our Dad will be greatly missed by all who knew him and would want everyone to celebrate his life with fond memories. The family welcomes you to join them on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Montgomery Community Hall at 5003 - 16 Avenue N.W. at 7:00 p.m. Our family wishes to recognize the efforts of the two anonymous first aiders (you're amazing!) and the emergency responders from Christina Lake and surrounding communities. Also, the overwhelming support from the community of Christina Lake for the families. Our condolences to the Barrie family for their loss in this tragic event. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Grand Forks Search and Rescue (Telephone 1-250-442-3360) would be appreciated. They lived as they named their boat: "R-Way."
Thank you for being you Dad
