OTTWAY, Edward Charles (Ted)
Ted passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on Monday, January 21, 2013 at the age of 95 years. Ted is survived by three sons, David (Joanne) and their three children; Bruce; Keith (Michelle) and son Vince; Wendy (Rolfe) and daughter Kallista; Lorne (Leta) and their sons, Greg (Jamie) and sons Trisdyn, Troy and Brandon; Murray; Stephen and daughter Danielle (Jeff) and daughter Ava as well as several nieces and nephews in Canada, England, Germany and Australia. He was predeceased by his loving wife Mary McLean (nee Fraser) in 2004; sister Doris Akehurst; brother Kenneth Ottway and sister Molly Glover of southern England. Ted served in the R.A.F. during the Second World War and came to Canada under the Commonwealth Training Program in 1941 where he met and married Mary in 1943 before returning to England. He came back to Canada in 1946, and was employed by the Greyhound Lines of Canada for 32 years and retired in 1978. Ted was loved and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. The family would like to express thanks to the staff of the Beverly Centre Lake Midnapore and the Rockyview General Hospital. A Celebration of Ted's Life will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200, 119 - 14 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6.
