March 5, 1939 - March 8, 2012
The family of Valerie Ayris sadly announces her passing on Thursday, March 8, 2012. Val was born in Cardston, Alberta, grew up in Waterton and completed her nursing education in Lethbridge. She had a long career in nursing at St. Michael's Hospital, was a nursing instructor at Lethbridge Community College and was a Past President of the Alberta Association of Registered Nurses. We fondly remember her for her dry wit and quick sense of humor, her love of her German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers and any and all cats. Val is survived by her sister-in-law Rissa Ayris; nieces Terry (Chuck) Billing, Susan (Cam) Black, Joan Ayris and Wendy (Don) Marshall; as well as her great-nieces, Meghan Black, Shannon Black, and Leona Marshall; and great- nephews Robert Marshall and James Marshall. Val was predeceased by her mother Vera Ayris, her father Robert Ayris, her brother Robert Ayris and her nephew Ray Robert Ayris. A Memorial Service will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 - 4 Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen's Park Cemetery) on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Please forward condolences through .
