MUTUAL, Laurence Evan "Larry"
February 3, 1957 - Edmonton, AB
June 12, 2014 - Calgary, AB
"HEY" is for horses. Laurence "Larry" Mutual passed in the night, now at rest, on Thursday June 12, 2014. Gone too soon at the age of 57. Remembered for visits to Ban-f-f and Lake Lousy, cheeseburgers in paradise, rocking to Rolling Stones, teaching tennis, and being everyone's teddy bear. Born to a Leduc farm, raised in Edmonton, lived in Calgary. Albertan through and through, he found warmth clad in shorts, boat shoes, over a BBQ, whether in the icy oversized grip of winter or the soft lei of summer. Worked hard and played hard, perpetually with Hawaii and his kids on his mind. Younger days spent hoisting trophies with the Dirt Shooters, claiming King of the Mountain with a pair of skis, later being Dad with the 7th Street Gang. His ambition to conquer led him to take on massive engineering projects with Fluor, and monolithic Clive Cussler novels. Rest assured, wherever he is, he's found a sandy beach in sunshine forgoing a hat and sunscreen, turning pink, an iDevice in hand, sharing a Viking-size pint with comic book heroes Thor and Odin. We miss you Larry, this Bud's for you. Celebration of Life will be held at McInnis and Holloway's Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB) on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Optional Hawaiian attire, leis provided. In lieu of flowers, instead get some 16 oz ribeye steaks and cook them with your loved ones, take a picture, and send it to us. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Larry Mutual, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
