RASMUSSEN , Gordon Richard Gordon Rasmussen, born February 13, 1922, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 8, 2009. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of sixteen years, Marilyn; his children: Jim (Eva) Rasmussen, Brad Rasmussen, Amy (Guy) Johnston, Brian (Shelley) Rasmussen, Lynn (Robert) Gregory, Catherine (John) Casey, Diane (Bruce) Lauzon, and Douglas Glambeck; twenty grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; two brothers Arnold and Eldon; three sisters Dagne, Lucille and Lois. He was predeceased by his first wife Clara and his granddaughter Jessi. Gordon lived a full life and was healthy until the Lord called him home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009 at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Standard at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Brad Everett officiating. Interment Standard Cemetery. Gordon was a good friend and a wonderful mentor. One could learn a lot from Gordon. Especially modesty: in spite of being very successful in his field, he didn't claim any personal credit but rather attributed it to "being born in the right year". My guess is that Gordon travelled his earthly journey without acquiring a single enemy. A good man; we were lucky to have him among us.
