LANE, Lorraine Margaret (nee Jorginson) Born November 25, 1926, in Selkirk, Manitoba. Died March 7, 2011 in Red Deer, Alberta. ""GRIEF IS THE PRICE WE PAY FOR LOVE"" Lorraine lived most of her very full life in Calgary. She grew up in Inglewood and lived many years in Glendale where she became known as ""The Swimming Lady."" Children from all over Calgary learned to swim in her backyard pool. In addition to her great accomplishments as wife, mother and grandmother, Lorraine worked in banking and insurance companies and later as a library technician at University Heights School, Ernest Manning High School and the Calgary Hebrew School. She also was the last crowned Stampede Flower Queen. Lorraine will be missed greatly by Harry, her loving husband of sixty-three years, her children Valerie (John), Richard (Cynthia), Douglas (Julianne) and Thomas (Darrelanne), grandchildren Ashley (Bradley), Jonathan (Rachel), Caitlin (Darren), Travis, Felicia, Kenna, Keely, Brendan, Kadie and Theodore and six great-grandchildren. Lorraine will also be mourned by sisters Betty and Joan (Renate) and many other family members. She was predeceased by brothers Lawrence, Gordon, Raymond and George, sister Joy, and grandson Chad. Lorraine loved to travel and made friends easily. Many from around the world will be saddened at her passing. A private family gathering will be held on Friday, March 11, 2011. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorraine's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 6, 5015 - 48 Street, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 1S9.
