It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Kay passed away peacefully at the age of 92 in the High River Hospital. Kay is survived by her son Brian (Wendy), son-in- law David (Pat), daughter-in-law Leslie (Ian), grandchildren Ken (Lisa), Georgie (Ken), Lori (Tommy) and Lana (Prasert). Kay also is survived by her nine great-grandchildren Jason (Candace), Ashley (Eric), Sarah, Amelia, Jasmine, Adrian, Justin, Chalida and Zachary as well as two great-great- grandchildren Brooke and Sloan. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Bill, daughter Gloria and grandson Andy (Brenda). Kay was the daughter of Joe Dixon who homesteaded at the turn of the century at Gladys Ridge. In 1940, she married William ("Bill") Willocks and in 1946 they bought a farm in the Dinton area. In 1941, her daughter Gloria was born followed by Brian in 1944. They farmed in the area until 1971 when they semi-retired and moved to High River. Kay had many interests and was a longtime member of the Dinton WI and the United Church in both Gladys and High River. She loved gardening and tending her flowers and was an avid card player, she especially loved playing bridge. Kay and Bill travelled all over the world and also spent many winters in Arizona. She loved golfing, camping and socializing with her friends and neighbours. She was a generous spirit who volunteered countless hours of her time to help a number of social and service organizations such as the High River Hospital. Kay truly loved people and had many friends. She said that she considered friends to be life's greatest resource. She was much loved and will be missed. A Memorial Service will be held at the High River United Church on Thursday, May 3 at 1:30 p.m. Donations can be made in her name to the High River Hospital Foundation, 560 - 9 Avenue S.W., High River, T1V 1B3.
