On Tuesday, May 15, 2012 we said goodbye to the most gentle, loving, caring woman one could ever have had the pleasure of knowing, our mother Evelyn Mary Ward. Evelyn was born in Radway, Alberta on March 18, 1932. She was married to Robert "Bud" Ward on June 26, 1951. Evelyn spent many years volunteering during her children's school years and at the Sarcee Auxiliary Hospital. Her hobbies included knitting, rug hooking and needlepoint. Evelyn was a Club Master Bridge player. She was also a talented seamstress. Loyal, kind and loving, Bud and Evelyn enjoyed life to the fullest from their many road trips, wonderful cruises and the friendships forged through their offshore drilling experience. Evelyn was a wonderful wife, a gifted and cherished mother and a very proud grandmother and great-grandmother. Evelyn was recently predeceased by her husband Bud on March 14, 2012. She is survived by her children; Sharon (Richard) Thompson, Douglas (Maureen) Ward, Thomas (Nora) Ward and Mary Jean (Ziad) Sabbagh, grandchildren; Bradley (Lori) Thompson, Mathew Thompson, Brandice Thompson, Brandon Ward, Omar Sabbagh and Jasmine Sabbagh, great-grandchildren; Lucas Thompson and James Thompson, sisters-in-law; Mary Hryniuk and Jean Hryniuk, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by her parents Paul and Mary Hrynuik, her brothers Stanley, Mitchell, Theodore and Orest and sisters Dorothy, Victoria and Verna.
