WARD, Aubrey George
Passed away in Halifax, NS on May 3, 2012. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Marion (nee Mooers) who passed away in July 2009, as well as by two brothers, James and Walter. He is survived by his children Tim, Tony, Peggy and Steve (of Calgary, Fredericton, Toronto and Brentwood Bay) and by his sister Melba Crawford (Lloyd) of Fredericton. Aubrey was born in Fredericton, NB on July 3, 1932 to Eldon and June Ward (nee Morrell). He spent most of his youth and early married life in Fredericton where his children began their schooling. In 1968 he moved his family to Alberta, and for 30 years he made Calgary his home. During that time he worked as a teacher with the Calgary Separate School Board, and most particularly at Bishop Grandin High School. He and Marion retired to Halifax in 1998 where they passed much of their time preparing for a favorite pastime: taking Caribbean cruises with the family. Following the death of his wife, Aubrey enjoyed relaxing diversions such as his passion for reading. He died at home. Aubrey's ashes will be interred in The Hermitage Cemetery in Fredericton, NB. He was very much loved and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
