John Kazimierz (Janek) Morys, beloved husband of the late Bronislawa Morys of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the age of 78 years. He was the loving father of: Edward Morys, Chris Morys (and beloved daughter-in-law Julie), Gregory Morys, Stephen Morys and Lucille Morys all of Calgary. Janek will also be lovingly remembered by his remaining relatives: Maria Sosnowski, Mark Sosnowski (Kathy), Andrew Sosnowski, Chris Sosnowski (Donna), Janina Morys, Barbara Morys (Bill), Mark Morys, Danuta Morys, Adela Piotrowski and Rob Nash (Maggie). Janek was predeceased by his beloved wife and the love of his life Bronislawa Morys, brother-in-law George Sosnowski; brothers: Alfred Morys, Antoni Morys and Stanislaw Morys; and Piotr Piotrowski as well as his niece Monica Harbeck. John was born in Planta, Poland June 24, 1934. Childhood years were spent in Poland, Russia, Africa and England before settling permanently in Calgary, Alberta where he met the love of his life Bronia while dancing together in the Polish folk group. They began their married life together April 27, 1957. John worked as an automobile mechanic until his retirement in 2010. He enjoyed, with his wife, supporting the aspirations of their children. He also enjoyed bicycle riding, hiking in the mountains and fixing and repairing almost anything. However, his true passion in life was cherishing every moment with Bronia. You treated our father with kindness and respect and your heroic efforts on his behalf will be appreciated and remembered by our family forever. A Visitation and Prayer Service will be held at MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Polish Catholic Church (2111 Uxbridge Drive N.W., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery, Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
