GREGORY, Robert Warren
July 26, 1933 - November 4, 2012
Robert (Bob) Gregory passed away suddenly with his beloved wife Kathy Hogan-Gregory and family at his side on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the age of 79 years. Bob was born and raised in St. Mary's, Ontario and he received his B.Sc. (Chemical Engineering) from Queen's University in 1956. Bob had many wonderful years in the oil and gas industry and was especially fond of the years he worked in London, England. Bob was actively involved in many aspects of and served on various committees at Grace Presbyterian Church and had proudly been an Elder for over thirty-five years. He had a beautiful tenor voice and in his earlier years proudly sang in the Grace choir and with the Calgary Philharmonic. He was also an active member of Queen's University Alumni and always looked forward to getting together with the guys. Bob is survived by his loving wife Kathy and will be dearly missed by his constant companion "Oscar"; as well as his children with Joan MacLean, Dan (Claudette) of Ottawa, Peggy Scruton (Mark) of Uxbridge, ON and Melanie Feldman (Elan) of Calgary; and grandchildren, Matthew, Kessya, Bryar, Tatum, and Farrah. He is also survived by his twin sister Reva Smith of Stratford, ON and brothers, Ross (Kate) also of Stratford and Roy (Anita) of Penticton, BC. Bob was predeceased by his second wife Ann and survived by her daughters, Ann Roy (Bill Horrex) and Phyllis Ziajka (Ted) and her grandchildren, Douglas, Sheelah and Jennifer. He is also survived by Kathy's children, Robert (Sandy) Hogan of New Canaan, CT; Butch (Carolyn) Hogan; Julie (Todd) Klippenstein; Roger (Barb) Hogan, all of Calgary and her grandchildren, Kenneth (Stephanie), Brent, Colleen, Breanne, Tyler, Lauren (Rory Ellis), Kelsey, Katherine, Liam, Sarah and McKinley. He was also predeceased by his parents, brother-in- law (Doug Smith) and sadly, in 2011, his eldest son Roger. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude and appreciation to the staff in ICU Trauma and ICU at Foothills Medical Centre for their outstanding care and support during such a difficult time. A Funeral Service will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church (1009 - 15 Avenue S.W.) today, Friday, November 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations in Bob's memory may be made to Family Caregiver Centre (Memory Plus Program), Calgary Health Trust, 800, 11012 Macleod Trail S.E., Calgary, AB T2J 6A5 or Grace Presbyterian Church, 1009 - 15 Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB, T2R 0S5.
