LABORET-HAXTON, Marie Barbara
August 10, 1920 - November 5, 2012
Our gratitude for God's most precious of gifts, His most sacred of Blessings, My Wife, Our Mother. Your never ending sacrifice, consistent unselfish and unconditional love, has seared a beautiful imprint on our souls. This imprint is a lasting life-time of inspiration…your eternal gift to your family. It is with great sadness that the family of Marie Barbara Laboret-Haxton said good-bye on Monday, November 5, 2012. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Roy; her sons Bryant (Kathy) and Darrell (Myrosia); her daughters, Marilyn (George), Cheryl, Dorothy (Bruce), and Carrell; ten grandchildren, Kevin Cross, Cameron (Jodi), Laurie (Kevin), Sherri (Ante), Chadwick, Joubran (Tara), Lawrence, Nahtasha (Jon), Brian and Brenden; and nine great-grandchildren, Bretton, Brady, Brilynne, Drason, Koen, Finley, Brielle, Eden and Luke. Marie was born in Strassburg, Ukraine. She arrived in Canada in 1926 with her mother (Marie) and her brother (Adolf). She settled in Schuler and eventually earned her nursing degree at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary where she raised her family. In 1989 Marie married Roy Haxton, with whom she has had twenty-four loving years. Marie had an unconditional dedication to her Catholic Faith and family. Dancing, church choir and travel were some of her favorite activities. She also had an immense passion for the outdoors including cross-country skiing, hiking and golf. Prayers and a celebration of Marie's life will be held today, November 9, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Parish (1600 Acadia Drive S.E., Calgary). A Mass will be offered for the repose of Marie's soul at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at St. Bonaventure Parish. Graveside Service to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice in Marie's name. In living memory of Marie Laboret-Haxton, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
