Phyllis passed away peacefully at Morgan Place in Surrey, BC at the age of 83 years. She was born in Olds, AB and spent her school years in Calgary where began her love of children and dance which continued throughout her life. She opened one of the first child care Nursery and Kindergarten centres in Calgary "Happy Times Day Nursery" in 1958. While operating this business and raising four children on her own, she was able to attain her Junior E certificate for Teaching. In 1966, she sold the daycare centre and started her career as a Beauty Culture teacher. Over the next 24 years she taught in Camrose, Sturgeon School Division, Fort McMurray, Stettler, finally settling in the Red Deer Catholic School System. In 1990 she retired to fulfill her life-long dream of opening a Doll Hospital & Museum in Torrington, AB which she ran till 2004. Phyllis continued to attend craft shows and farmer's markets with her dolls until 2009 and the following year moved to BC to be near two of her three daughters. Phyllis Wilson was a well loved mother, grandmother, and teacher who affected many lives during her lifetime. Phyllis was predeceased by her parents Joseph Chester and Edna and her son Rourke (1985). She leaves to mourn her loss her brother Eldon (Vera) Trca of Olds, daughters Dona (Gerald) Radomsky of Logan Lake, BC, Judy- Anne Wilson of Edmonton, and Carole (Lorne) Davidson of White Rock, grandchildren Kimberly (Andrew), Kyla (Sean), Amanda (Peter), Jeremy (Lilly), Kathleen, Robyn (Corey), and Robert (Rebecca), one great- grandchild Aria, Aunt Lois Guitard of Olds and numerous nieces and cousins. A Celebration of Life will be held in Olds, AB in 2013 when all her family can attend. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society.
