Sheila McGregor Cox, beloved wife of Graham of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the age of 85 years. Sheila was born in Vernon, B.C., and attended school there. Her post secondary education was at the University of British Columbia and the Presbyterian Deaconess School in Toronto, Ontario where she met her husband Graham in 1947. They were married in Vernon, B.C. in the same year and moved to Kenora in North Western Ontario. Sheila thoroughly enjoyed years spent in Kenora where she was a committed Mom to Duncan and Malcolm and an active volunteer in hospital and seniors home auxiliaries. She and Graham later lived in Fort Frances and Kitchener, Ontario and later in Chestermere and Calgary, Alberta where she enjoyed the many friendships she developed at the "Whitecapper's" groups and the Pavilions Apartments. She was a skillful and avid curler and participated at local and regional levels in Kenora, Fort Frances, and Kitchener. Besides her loving husband Graham, Sheila is survived by sons Malcolm and Duncan; daughters-in- law Louise and Joyce; grandchildren, Matt (Hilde), Erin (Mike), Todd (Carly), Ryan, Rebecca, Ceilidh and Shannon; and great-grandchildren, Tegan, Sullivan and Abner. Sheila was predeceased by her mother and father, James and Christina Ewing. A Celebration of Sheila's Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to thank all of the people at the Beverly Care Centre in Midnapore, who cared for Sheila in the last years of her life.
