GAYFORD, Dorothy Irene
Dorothy Irene Gayford, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at the age of 96 years. She is survived by her son Wayne (Leanne) Gayford of Lethbridge, her grandchildren: Doug (Shelley) Gayford, Colin (Jill) Gayford, Tara (Brett) Holmes, Chris Gayford, Nathan Gayford, her eight great- grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Hugh, son Raymond, her parents Frank and Sarah Pragnell, brothers Bob, Harry (Peg), Tom (Pat), and sister Mary Brown. Dorothy was born and raised in Bassano Alberta and was always very proud of her heritage. She moved to Calgary following her marriage to Hugh in 1939 and together they raised their family. She was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. If so desired, memorial donations may be made in Dorothy's name directly to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Calgary (150, 110 Quarry Park Boulevard S.E., Calgary, AB, T2C 3G3).
