SHEEN, Bertrand
February 5, 1935 - February 8, 2013
Bertrand Sheen, beloved husband of Constance of Calgary, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the age of 78 years. Bert and his twin sister Juliana were born on a farm February 5, 1935. He attended a country school near Macklin, SK. He attended Notre Dame College. He joined the track and field team and got first place in the hundred metre dash, running in stocking feet. He moved to Calgary in 1961, where he met Connie and they married in July 1962. He worked as an accountant clerk for a few years before returning back to school for another year to take courses to become a teacher. He started teaching in 1970 and taught until he retired in 1992, taking the occasional substitution job until 1995. He enjoyed Tim Horton's and spending coffee time with friends as well as cheering on his beloved Flames. Besides his loving wife Connie; Bert is survived by his children, Mandy (Jeff), Dennis (Debbie), Anthony, Lonna (Jupiter) and Byron (Michelle) mother of their children; grandchildren, Ashton, Breanna, Barrett, Colton, Jesse and Journie. Bert is also survived by his siblings, Mary (Simon), Helen (Joe), Betty (Walter), Alex (Jovita), Pete (Mary), John (Gabi), Con, George, Rudy (Flo), Ray (Loretta), Juliana (Don), Alvina, Jack (Polly) Joe and Shirley. Funeral Services will be held at St. Mark's Catholic Church (5552 Madigan Drive N.E., Calgary) on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through In living memory of Bertrand Sheen, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park, Cochrane.
