O. Ronald Oshanek passed away peacefully with his family at his side after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Ron had a 29 year career with the Calgary Police Service and retired at the rank of S/Sgt. After retirement he kept busy building furniture, golfing, gardening, travelling and making wine. Ron will be dearly missed by Phyllis, his wife of 45 years, and their children; James (Rosita), Rhonda (Paul) and Stacey (Jane) and five grand children; Jaclyn, Shayna, Emily, Evan and Abigail. He will also be missed by his brothers and sisters; Jerry (Paulette), Ethel, Don (Colene), Lawrence, Terry (Cheryl), Diane (Don) and Darlene and Phyllis' sister and her husband, Laurie and Bob, as well as many nieces and nephews and dear friends. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
