CROCKER, John "Jack" Grant

John "Jack" Grant passed away in Calgary, AB on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the age of 85 years. He is predeceased by his parents, six siblings and first wife, Margaret, the mother of all five children: Brooks, Brad, Brett, Brenda and Bonnie. He is survived by loving wife, Beryl, as well his five children and their partners/spouses, eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren as well as one on the way. Jack attended Franklin Street Elementary and Vocational High School in Fort William. He commenced work at Northern Engineering Co. (five years) and Great Lakes Paper Mill (three years). He joined CPR Police Force in 1953 in Fort William, transferred to Kenora, ON in 1960, and then to Calgary, AB in 1967. Jack retired due to health in 1985. He married Margaret Brooks Dryburgh in Fort William on November 11, 1949 who predeceased him in Calgary in 1981. On July 11, 1987, Jack married B. Beryl Frizzell of Moose Jaw, SK, New Westminster, BC and Montreal, QC. They spent twelve years going to Arizona for the winter months, which they enjoyed tremendously. As a younger man, Jack was an avid fisherman, bowler, dancer and golfer. A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200, 119 - 14 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6.
